Start short
The three-hour trip is the classic starter for young kids. You can always book the bigger day next time.
Dress for the water
Layers, sun protection, soft-soled shoes, water and snacks. It's almost always cooler out there than it feels at the dock.
Roll with it
It's fishing. Some days are red hot, some make you work. The kids remember the boat ride and the first tug either way.

What if we’ve never fished?
Say so when booking. First-timers are a big part of his trips, and the reviews back up the coaching.
How long should we go?
Depends on the kids. Three hours is plenty for most young ones. Ask Travis what he’d do with your crew’s ages.
Is it safe?
Life jackets, first aid, flares, an EPIRB beacon and a VHF radio are aboard, and the captain calls off any day the weather’s wrong.
What should we pack?
Layers, sunscreen, sunglasses, water, snacks and soft-soled shoes. The boat covers all the fishing gear.
